Black McLaren Jones Ryland & Griffee, P.C. practices general civil and criminal law in all courts, and has experience in a wide variety of areas including:

Domestic Relations involves adoptions, antenuptial agreements, divorce and post-divorce issues including grounds for divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, equitable division of property, and contempt, legal separation, paternity issues, and termination of parental rights.

Insurance legal services are provided to insurance carriers, reinsurers, agents, brokers, corporate risk managers and intermediaries, among others. Insurers are represented in third party and first party coverage litigation, business litigation, bad faith litigation, fraud investigations, and non-claims-related litigation.

Professional liability includes the defense of medical professionals, health care providers, lawyers, insurance agents, accountants, financial planners, school boards, title service companies, and many more professional offices dealing with the public.

Administrative law includes a wide range of proceedings before various governmental bodies. BMJRG represents the interests of businesses and individuals before regulatory bodies, and represents small businesses in proceedings concerning status as Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, Minority Business Enterprises, or Women Business Enterprises.

Estate planning and probate law deal with planning for and the distribution of real and personal property to an individual's heirs. Estate planning typically involves the execution of wills and creation of trusts, but may also require the creation of family partnerships and other agreements for the tax-efficient transfer of business interests to an individual's heirs. BMJRG helps clients with important estate planning decisions and related health care planning matters.

Products liability involves representing either product manufacturers and their insurers or consumers in suits dealing with claimed product failures or design deficiencies. Products liability litigation revolves around proving, or disproving, that a product is defective by either design defects, manufacturing defects, or defects in marketing.

Fidelity and surety law involves fidelity bond law and litigation, including bonds issued on behalf of commercial and financial institutions that provide coverage for dishonesty or fraud. BMJRG also handles cases involving contract suretyship, including claims against a contractor's performance or payment of bond surety on a public or private construction project. Sureties are involved in a wide variety of complex legal matters, including claims by sureties against obligees, principals, or indemnitors.

Employment law includes representation of either employers or employees regarding claims of wrongful discharge, unpaid wages, employment discrimination, and worker's compensation.

Construction law involves representation of developers, engineers, prime and sub-contractors and suppliers, owners, architects, and construction managers. BMJRG provides a full range of services to construction industry clients, including providing counsel for litigation involving construction accidents.

Environmental law focuses on both legal and practical aspects of environmental litigation.

Creditor's rights law allows creditors to maximize recovery of debts in bankruptcy practice, workouts, and during insolvency. Clients are advised on loan restructuring, workouts, asset sales, bankruptcy trustee work, and other issues.

Alternative Dispute Resolution - Services include all forms of mediation, arbitration, and negotiation. We represent clients in all aspects of problem solving outside the courtroom in addition to inside the courtroom. We are also available to mediate and/or arbitrate disputes.
